Describing an object

Carla – Excuse me, I'm searching for a blue house. Have you seen in this urbanitzation?
Isona – A blue house? What type of house? What does it look like?
Carla – It's a very big house with a little lake with ducs and fishes.
Isona – A blue house with a little lake with ducs and fishes. Hold on one second. I'll go to walk for the urbanitzation and I'll have a look.
Carla – OK, thanks very much.
Isona – No, sorry. I was looking and I haven't seen any house like that you describe. When did you last seen it?
Carla – It's a house of a old friend... I went five years ago.
Isona – I'll look in the urbanitzation map.
Carla – O.K, I'll hope.
Isona - Well! Five years ago it was a blue house, but now, it's painted of colour white! Leave your name and telephone number and I’ll contact with you about the information you needs.

Reporting an interview

AN INTERVIEW WITH TOBY HEMINGWAY by Carla Tarrés

Toby says that he was feeling good today. He’s happy when he’s out with friends, and he said that pasta and his clothes were two things which he couldn’t live without. If he could be anywhere in the world at this moment, he would be on a beach in the Seychelles with her girlfriend.
Toby has got a good memory, and he remembers all of the dialogues of his films. He remembers perfectly the script of one film called the game of love. This was his last film. The best he ever had.
He’s usually positive about the future. I asked if the planet would be a better place in a hundred years, and he said that it probably would. When he’s older, Toby thinks that he might live in Massachusetts, because he likes it. He promised that he wouldn’t lose his friends and family in the future.

A discussion essay

Internet and books

I’ve had a problem recently. My cousin Anna met a guy one week ago and he asked her out. They’ve met a twice times and I think that she likes him. I think he’s a bit younger than her, but I’m not sure because she doesn’t talk about him.
I’m worried because I haven’t met this person. I think my cousin should be more responsible about their relationship and I’d much happier if she introduced me to her boyfriend. But maybe I shouldn’t worry or interfere. I usually trust my cousin, but she has been rare recently.
I’d really like some advice because if I don’t stop do something now, we’ll probably have a big argument.

A diary entry

My bestfriend was in a car accident two days ago and she’s lucky to be alive.

She’d been at a bar and was coming home with Miriam oh his car.

She wasn’t wearing the belt, so she was really lucky that she wasn’t badly injured.

I think that my bestfriend was wrong to get on the bike without the belt.

I would have phoned a friend or phoned her parents. If she’d phoned them, they would’ve been angry, but it would’ve been OK.

I don’t think that this will happen again.
Her parents are furious and they’ve grounded Haley for two weeks.
So she’s probably learned her lesson now, but you never know with Laura.

A letter: explaining a problem

I’ve had a problem recently. My bestfriend Lisa met a boy in the disco one weekend ago and he asked her out.
They've met three times and I think that she's fallen in love. I think he's a bit younger than her, but I'm not sure because she doesn't explain anything about him.
I'm worried because I haven't met this guy. I think my bestfriend should be more responsible with her relationship and I'd be not so worried if she introduced me to her new boyfriend George. But maybe I shouldn't interfere in their lives. Simply needs that my friend be happy. I usually trust Lisa, but she has been strange recently.
I'd like some advice because if I don't do something soon, we'll probably have a big argument.
